We all know and love Ms. Youngblood for her colorful and bubbly room, but there’s also her fun and expressive fashion sense. Ms. Youngblood has always been drawn to the quirky and vibrant clothing that makes her feel comfortable. Although she doesn’t feel like she has a style, just by looking at her outfits, we can safely say that she does. From her cute and amusing scarfs to her earrings and flared jeans, she definitely has an imaginative and original style. So chic!
Ms. Youngblood shared that expressing herself through her clothes has always been important to her: “I feel like fashion is an expression of your individualism of our insides…. [Especially] after my knee surgeries last year, I have prioritized my sleep, eating, and health. I hope this reflects externally how I am feeling.” So, every day of the week, she wears something new and creative, to bring self-expression and vibrant colors into teaching. In addition to educating her students in English class, just by looking at her outfit-of-the-day, we get a lesson in originality and style.
Monday
"I think there’s certain colors that look better on my skin tone; orange doesn’t, but mustard does.”
Tuesday
“I love different textures and patterns. Thrifting is a great way to find some fun pieces.”
Wednesday
“I also like whimsical things, like my red dragon or 'Where the Wild Things Are' earrings - or ties with fun prints - and funky shoes.”
Thursday
“I find that I dress in a combination of comfort and professional attire. I love sandals in the summer with tan lines on my feet - and to have them snuggled by boots and warm socks in the winter.”
Friday
“I like to add in pieces that I have found traveling, or that remind me of my travels. Many of my clothes and jewelry remind me of the people who gave them to me, or were with me on adventures.”
