After a long break, I am happy to announce that the food reviews are back! This article and the next 2 are from last year so it is possible that there is some discrepancy.
After having got to the cafeteria after the large lines had already formed, I decided to skip the ridiculously long waits and opt for the vegetarian/vegan line. I took the strawberry smoothie, a pear, and a carton of fat free milk.
The smoothie itself was nice and cold and was the right consistency; it was thick but not too thick to suck out of a straw. It had a nice yogurt flavor and the sweet strawberry flavor tasted fresh and had an aftertaste of banana, with a slight tang. I think this smoothie is one of their better smoothies and, as with the others, is much better than when they were originally making smoothies.
The pear was also quite good but it came with the sticker still on it; of course it still had probably been washed. The skin was in good condition and quite clean. The pear itself was very crisp and hard, but not too much so, and very sweet. It was not mealy in any respect and the skin wasn’t nasty to eat, the only problem was that there is no easy way to cut a pear if you like to eat them cut like I do.
The fat free milk was not good. You could say there was nothing really wrong with it since it was cold, not sour and not frozen but fat free milk is not good. I’ve never had it before and it tasted very much like water. You don’t need to take milk so if this is the only option just don’t take milk.
Overall I would rate the smoothie a 9.5/10 with no real critique of it, the pear an 8/10 because I wish it didn't come with the sticker and that I could cut it, and the milk a 2.5/10 and not worth drinking. Overall I would rate this meal an 9/10 just don’t take this milk.
