Traveling 82 miles east into the San Bernardino mountains, the senior and junior Diploma Program classes spent their weekend in Running Springs, California at the Pali Retreat. After a rocky start with an unfortunately memorable bus incident, 104 students and 8 chaperones braved the 20-30 degree weather together (with lots of layers). Planned and organized by Ms. Clark and Ms. Ortiz, this two-night retreat was the perfect getaway from the stress of school, complete with ziplining, archery, karaoke, skits, smores, competitive rounds of foosball, and so much more.
In a period of reflection, many students commented that after the trip, they felt more connected to everyone, especially those whom they may not have known before. The DP cohort hopes to continue this tradition next year, with more laughs and lasting memories.
