About
Sophie Seifert (she/her) has been a part of journalism since her 8th Grade year at ERHS. (INC.). Growing up in Glendale, Sophie was raised watching many movies including one of her favorite movies, Coraline. She enjoys the silliness and fun of Coraline's character, and finds comfort in the movie. In her younger teenage years, Sophie attended multiple Women's Marches, and respects others who do the same. She is now in the 11th grade and continues to stay consistent with her journalism team
Being a student athlete, Sophie plays several sports, and continues to maintain a high grade point average. She enjoys playing volleyball for the school, but finds her favorite sports to be swim team, and waterpolo. She appreciates the swim community, and believes it offers a safe and comfortable environment for people to bond. Similar to the swim community, Sophie also finds comfort in listening to music as a hobby, and enjoys the atmosphere it creates. She enjoys bonding over music with her sister by attending parties, concerts, and listening to bands play.
Circling back to Women's Marches, Sophie respects impactful leaders including Gretta Thunberg, a young climate activist. She believes the true importance of life is the small moments when you truly bond with another. Quoting Sophie; “I think it’s important to appreciate little things in life, happy memories. Don’t take happy memories for granted.”
On the silly side of Sophie's life, she loves eating sushi, and finds it to be one of her favorite meals. She likes the majority of seafood dishes like poke bowls, and fish plates. Sophie enjoys listening to the indie rock genre of music, and believes that music can really strengthen a bond between two people. If she were to have any superpower she would choose teleportation, because she believes it would make travelling and moving around much more efficient, and convenient. Sophie finds peace in the easier things in life, and enjoys a true bond with her friends and family.
